Great Basin Native Artists

Dear Native Artist,

Hello, my name is Melissa Melero-Moose and I am a professional artist working and living on the Reno/Sparks Indian Colony, Hungry Valley
reservation near Reno, NV, and a member of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe. Ben Aleck (Pyramid Lake Paiute), other local Native
artists and I have noticed a current interest in exhibiting local Native art in the area as well as the importance of Native Artists
interacting with each other for support. We decided to put together a group called the Great Basin Native Artists.

GBNA is a group of artists that meet quarterly in the Reno, Pyramid Lake, and Fallon areas and a website resource directory for all
Native American working artists residing/or originally from the Nevada and the eastern Sierra Nevada mountain range. This collective
group of artists wanted to be available to the public in one resource center and available to each other for professional support by providing a:

- Great Basin Native Artists website Directory and Image Gallery online
- exhibiting opportunities as a group for local, national, and international Native exhibitions
- art business workshops for professional and emerging artists
- forum for Native artists and interested community members to connect
- Online presence for rural Native artists

If you are interested in becoming a part of this group or being listed on the website directory with your own artist page, please
contact me at 775-424-3159 or gbnativeartists@gmail.com. To create your own page and be included on the GBNA website, we will
need 5 or more images (ex. you, your art, inspirations), a short description (artist statement) of who you are, where you are
from, and description of your art medium, and preferred contact information. We are looking for all kinds of artists to list
on the website (visual artists, traditional artists, digital media artists, performance artists, literary artists, etc.).

Please pass this information on to any artists you know of in the area or online. Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon!

Respectfully,

Melissa Melero-Moose
